Main activities
1- Formulating the strategic and operational programs related to improving maternal and infant health indicators 2- Raising scientific and practical awareness of midwifery personnel (in-service training) through assessing educational needs of midwifery staff and planning and facilitating the training courses and supervising the fair implementation 3- Promoting midwifery research on the needs and priorities of the province 4-Controlling and supervision of midwifery care 5- Tracking high risk pregnancies in poor mothers and allocation of funds 6- implementing On Call program for headquarter experts for twenty four hours a day 7- Estimating required workforce based on standard indicators and declaring recruitment rows 8- Investigating facilities and equipment of medical centers in connection with the provision of better services to mothers 9- Collecting personnel information, number of beds and performance of public and private medical centers and reflecting to the higher authority for further reviewing 10- Establishing mother-friendly hospitals and supervising their Performance and preparation and submit a report to the relevant units 11- Establishing Baby-friendly hospitals and supervising their performance as well as preparation and submit report to the relevant units 12- Reviewing and preparation appropriate responses to Health Department's correspondence in the field of midwifery 13- Implementation of the action plan based on the existing problems
